VW T6.1 closing aid SoftClose electric tailgate retrofit package

Here we provide you with the complete package for retrofitting the closing aid in the tailgate of your VW T6.1 Bus

This means you no longer have to "slam" the tailgate, but only close it gently!

The trunk lid is then electrically closed and locked completely.

Scope of delivery:

• - 1x original VW T6.1 control unit for closing aid
• - 1x original VW T6.1 locking plate with closing aid
• - 1x original VW T6.1 cover for lock carrier (depending on model)
• - 1x original VW T6.1 various mounting materials / screws etc.
• - 1x pre-assembled cable set
• - 1x installation instructions (German)

The retrofitting of the electric tailgate closing aid is possible on all VW T6.1 models from model year 2020 onwards as well as all equipment variants (California, Caravelle, Multivan, Transporter, panel van, etc.) with an upward-opening tailgate (= PR number: 3RC / 3RB / 3RJ) and with or without an installed electric tailgate.

NOT suitable for your VW T6.1 bus with trunk doors that open to the left and right.

NOT suitable for VW T6 Bus models up to and including model year 2019, for these you need the closing aid retrofit package with article number: 22940

This retrofit package is also suitable for VW T6.1 models with the currently installed "short" loading sill (often installed on Transporter panel vans). You can then upgrade to the visually much more appealing "wide" loading sill.

Finally, no coding work is required for this retrofit; the electric closing aid for the tailgate (= "trunk lid") works immediately.
