After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here, with the help of the innovative and already pre-configured KECODI APP, completely automatically activates the light/rain sensor, including generating the menu items in your infotainment system.

Product attributes:

The retrofitting of the original light/rain sensor (Coming Home / Leaving Home) is possible on all VW T6.1 models of all years of manufacture, all variants (Multivan, Transporter, Bus, Caravelle, Business, California, long wheelbase, etc.) as well as all equipment variants with a capable windscreen with a mount for the light/rain sensor (= e.g. already factory-capable with PR number: 4L6 or 8G1).

Models with a non-compatible windshield (i.e., the interior mirror is only attached to the windshield with a single adhesive dot, or there is no interior mirror installed at all) lack the mount for the light/rain sensor. In these cases, the windshield must also be replaced (depending on the model, e.g., on PR number 8N4 or 8N6). A new interior mirror is also required; you can also conveniently order this here with a manually dimming or automatically dimming option.

We supply you with the appropriate sensor for your model (depending on the installed electronics / model year) as well as the appropriate light switch (depending on the installed fog lights / rear fog lights, etc.).

Information about the windshield:

For models with an interior mirror that is only attached to the windshield with an adhesive dot (= PR number: 8N4), a windshield with a mount for the light/rain sensor is also required. (= without a "bridge" through which cables already run into the headliner - see image). Furthermore, these T6.1 models also require the interior mirror to be replaced. We recommend retrofitting the auto-dimming interior mirror at the same time. We also supply the necessary trim parts for the bridge/cable duct that leads upwards from the interior mirror (see item no.: 22954).

For models with a "hinged" interior mirror (= e.g. already installed at the factory in existing automatically dimming interior mirrors), it is not necessary to change the windscreen as it is already suitable for retrofitting the light/rain sensor.
