VW Passat B8 high beam assistant automatic light retrofit package

Significantly upgrade your VW Passat B8 with the original high beam assistant.

Here we supply you with the retrofit package for installing the comfortable high beam assistant / FLA in your VW Passat B8.

Your VW Passat B8 switches the high beam on or off automatically.

Scope of delivery:

• - 1x original VW Passat B8 interior mirror with FLA function (depending on model)
• - 1x pre-assembled cable set

Product attributes:

The retrofitting of the original high beam assistant / FLA is possible on all VW Passat B8 models of all years of manufacture, all body styles (sedan, alltrack Variant) and all equipment variants with already installed or retrofitted light/rain sensor (= PR number 8N6, identification mark: light switch has the AUTO position).

The cable harness runs from the interior mirror into the driver's footwell and is connected there.

Suitable for upgrading the currently installed automatically dimming interior mirror to an automatically dimming interior mirror WITH high beam assistant as well as for upgrading a currently installed manually dimming interior mirror to an automatically dimming interior mirror WITH high beam assistant.

Product compatibility:

The currently installed interior mirror will be replaced with the supplied automatically dimming interior mirror with FLA function

The cable harness runs from the interior mirror into the driver's footwell and is connected there.

Replacing the steering column switch (high beam/indicator lever) is not necessary.

Please note: For models without a light/rain sensor already installed, this must be retrofitted beforehand. This retrofit package can also be ordered in our online shop.

Please note: For models with low equipment levels without a Highline diagnostic interface/gateway already installed, this must be replaced additionally. This control unit can also be ordered in our online shop under item number: 23110.

Here's how you can check whether the currently installed diagnostic interface is suitable:

Option 1:

Connect the vehicle to a diagnostic system (e.g. VCDS / ODIS / KECODI) - select control unit address 19 - the name of the diagnostic interface (HIGH - MED - LOW) appears in the information field.

Option 2:

Remove the control unit (installed in the driver's footwell near the steering column) and read the sticker. The designation is printed on this sticker.

Gateway HIGH = high = suitable (control unit does not need to be replaced)

INFO: Models which already have a multifunction steering wheel or an assistance system such as ACC, lane keeping assistant, lane change assistant, traffic sign recognition with front camera in the windscreen, always have a suitable Highline Gateway installed at the factory - this does not need to be replaced.

Gateway MED = medium = not suitable (control unit must be replaced)

Gateway LOW = low = not suitable (control unit must be replaced)
