After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here carries out the complete automatic activation of the rear speakers with the help of the innovative KECODI that is already preset for you.

No further activations or even a visit to your VW partner's workshop are necessary; the KECODI completes the full activation of the sound system in just a few seconds.

Installation time: approx. 3 hours

Please note the exclusion for vehicles from model year 2023 onwards with installed PR number NI8 (NI8 = Without UNECE CS (R155) and SU (R156) with SFD2-SG) or installed PR number NI7 (NI7 = With UNECE CS (R155) without SU (R156)) or installed PR number NI9 (NI9 = With UNECE CS&SU) or installed PR number NI1 (NI1 = With UNECE CS&SU).

Unfortunately, these models cannot be retrofitted or unlocked.

Vehicles from model year 2023 with installed PR number NI0 (NI0 = Without UNECE CS&SU) can only be upgraded to a limited extent. Please contact us in advance with the chassis number so that we can check this. Vehicles from previous model years (e.g. 2022, 2021, 2020, etc., where this PR number does not yet exist) can still be retrofitted.

Product attributes:

Retrofitting the speakers in the rear area is possible for all VW ID.3 models of all years of manufacture with currently only front-mounted speakers (= PR number: 8RS).

Installing speakers in the two rear doors significantly expands the sound system!

The door panel does not need to be replaced, only the two speakers are mounted at the existing points inside the rear doors and connected to the multimedia system using the supplied cable set.

The included KECODI coding interface takes care of the final, complete activation of the retrofitted sound system in your fully electric Volkswagen ID3.
