Tailor-made carbon intake system / intake solution, for real power and torque increase for Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 Turbo, Turbo S by Eventuri

Acceleration time: 100-200 km/h Reduced by 0.2 seconds

Fit: Porsche 991.1 991.2 Turbo, Turbo S

The 991 Turbo Eventuri intake system was developed through extensive practical testing with the goal of making the turbos operate more efficiently. By replacing the single-stock airbox with individual, patented Eventuri filter housings, the turbos are able to spool and generate boost with less resistance. This shortens the wastegate duty cycles, resulting in peak surge at lower rpm and thus increased power. The two individual filters offer a larger filtering area than the one-piece panel filter. To keep intake air temperatures low, the Eventuri housings are also sealed against an air duct that draws ambient air from the same location as the OEM system. Because the 911 Turbo engine bay is tightly packed, high intake temperatures can only be avoided with a fully sealed intake system. The combination of smoother airflow to each turbo with low intake temperatures results in increased power and more direct throttle response over the stock airbox.

The Eventuri Difference

The 911 Turbo Eventuri system utilizes our patented carbon fiber housings with our custom-designed Gen 2 filters, allowing for aerodynamically efficient airflow from the filter to the turbos. Not just another conical filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbos.

The intake was road tested using a Vbox unit to record acceleration from 60-130 mph. The tests were conducted on the same track—again, on the same day to minimize variables. The results show a 0.2 second reduction in acceleration times from 60-130 mph, a significant improvement at such speeds.

Summary of acceleration results:

  • 60-130mph with stick mount = 8.04 seconds
  • 60-130mph with Eventuri mount = 7.83 seconds

The gains are due to a combination of reasons:

  • Individual Eventuri housings separate the flow path for each turbo so they can work more efficiently
  • The Eventuri housings ensure a smooth transition from the filter to the intake pipes and keep the air flow laminar
  • The intake air temperatures are reduced to a minimum by a closed system to prevent the heated engine compartment air from being drawn in.
  • The Eventuri 991 Turbo intake system consists of a series of components designed for a specific purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. Here are the details of each component and the design behind it:

    Each intake system consists of:

    • 2 x Carbon Eventuri housings with integrated tubes
    • 2 x Custom-made High Flow Generation 2 filters
    • 2 x aluminum intake manifolds
    • Carbon fiber intake duct
    • Laser-cut stainless steel brackets

The filter housings consist of our custom-designed Generation 2 filters, aluminum intake manifolds, carbon fiber bodies, and integrated pipes. The carbon fiber bodies enclose the rear-mounted filters and gently shape the airflow to the stock turbo intake pipes.By separating the intake path and using a dedicated filter for each turbocharger, the intake allows the turbos to function more efficiently. Crucially, the Eventuri housings extend organically with a gentle curve from the filter opening to the stock turbo hose. This ensures that airflow remains as smooth as possible throughout the system. Smooth airflow results in less drag, allowing the turbos to reach peak boost earlier in the rev range. It also means that throttle response feels more responsive.

    PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

Our patented filter housings gently reduce the cross-sectional area by enclosing the filters and tapering toward the hose. This geometry induces the Venturi effect, accelerating airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack—below is a diagram comparing our patented design to a regular intake system. Our custom-designed filters support airflow through the housings, allowing for a consistent velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings.

The intake duct seals with the OEM rubber pad on the underside of the trunk lid and then extends downwards to seal against the filter housings. The 100% prepreg carbon intake duct ensures that the intake duct draws in only ambient air and not heated engine bay air. To maximize flow efficiency, the transition from the circular openings for the filter housings to the single air entry point is as smooth as possible. The duct also features two drain hoses that direct water away from the filters. The pipes are designed so that the intake ports draw in a minimum of air from the engine bay due to the greater flow resistance in the pipes compared to the opening at the top of the duct. The complex geometry of the duct was necessary to work around the various components in the 991 Tu's engine bay.

The brackets are laser-cut from stainless steel and powder-coated. We've taken great care to ensure that the Eventuri intake system for the Porsche 991 attaches to the stock mounting points. The brackets not only secure the intakes to the body, but also allow for the securing of engine components like the stock airbox. To save weight, each bracket features deliberately shaped cutouts that remove material while keeping the overall structure rigid.
