Here is the latest version of our brand new Version II carbon mirror covers for the F87 M2 Competition, F80 M3 and F82/F83 M4. Apart from the mounting clips, it is made of 100% carbon fiber, which is lighter and more tear-resistant compared to our ABS plastic overlay version. These Version II dry carbon mirror covers weigh just 121 grams VS the Version I ABS plastic overlay at 239 grams per side, that's almost half the weight shaved off! The name of dry carbon fiber comes from its manufacturing process. Dry carbon fibers are formed by using a pre-preg or impregnated piece of carbon materials. This piece of carbon is first placed in a mold and then in a sealed vacuum (autoclave) to cure properly. This particular method creates the least amount of waste and creates a lighter version of carbon than the wet method. The autoclave vacuum process used to produce dry carbon means fewer pinholes and virtually no air pockets form in the carbon. Dry carbon is the highest quality version of carbon products manufactured. All AutoTecknic mirror caps are manufactured to the OEM counterpart to ensure a 100% fit. Our products go through strict testing and quality control before they are released to the public.
