After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here uses the innovative KECODI that is already pre-configured for you to fully automatically activate the DVD drive retrofit.

Please note the exclusion for vehicles from model year 2023 onwards with installed PR number NI8 (NI8 = Without UNECE CS (R155) and SU (R156) with SFD2-SG) or installed PR number NI7 (NI7 = With UNECE CS (R155) without SU (R156)).

Unfortunately, these models cannot be retrofitted or unlocked.

Vehicles of the model year 2023 with installed PR number NI0 (NI0 = Without UNECE CS&SU) or vehicles of previous model years (e.g. 2022, 2021, etc., where this PR number does not yet exist) can still be retrofitted.

Product attributes:

The retrofitting of the original DVD + CD drive is possible on all AUDI A8 / S8 4N models of all years of manufacture (also from model year 2020 etc.) with installed MMI Navigation plus (= PR number 7UG)

It is operated via the touchscreen of your MMI multimedia system.

You can then insert CDs or DVDs and play them (films on DVD can also be played afterwards).

Including the activation of the display of moving images/videos while driving (= VIM/Video in Motion activation). This activation, which is normally offered for EUR 99.00 including VAT and of course also makes sense if you are already upgrading a CD/DVD drive for playing music/films/music videos, is already automatically included in the activation.

The drive is inserted into the existing recess in the glove compartment and connected to the MMI main computer, which is also located behind the glove compartment, using the cable set provided.

Please check in advance whether your glove compartment has this slot (see product image) - if there is no slot, the inner box of the glove compartment must also be replaced, which you can get at any time from your local AUDI/VW partner.
