In addition, the traffic jam assistant is also activated at the same time on models with an already installed ACC radar sensor and automatic transmission.

Please note the exclusion for vehicles from model year 2023 onwards with installed PR number NI8 (NI8 = Without UNECE CS (R155) and SU (R156) with SFD2-SG) or installed PR number NI7 (NI7 = With UNECE CS (R155) without SU (R156)).

Unfortunately, these models cannot be retrofitted or unlocked.

Product attributes:

The retrofitting of the original lane keeping assistant / active lane assist is possible on all AUDI A4 / S4 / RS4 B9 8W models of all years of manufacture (pre-facelift / facelift) with a built-in front driving camera in the windscreen (= PR number: QK1, installed as standard).

On your AUDI A4 B9 8W with installed ACC (= radar-based cruise control system), the traffic jam assistant is also available.

For models with a HeadUp Display, the new assistance system "lane assist" is of course also shown as a projection on the windscreen in addition to the display in the speedometer / Virtual Cockpit.

After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here completes the automatic activation of the additional function using the innovative KECODI that is already pre-configured for you.

The final basic adjustment of the steering angle or steering is carried out using a standard diagnostic system such as VCDS or ODIS; unfortunately, this is currently not possible with the KECODI.

Functional description:

Audi active lane assist gently intervenes in the steering before the lane markings are crossed and comfortably supports the driver in keeping in lane (functional range from approx. 60 to a maximum of 250 km/h).

If the system is activated and ready and the driver has not activated the turn signal, Audi active lane assist helps to guide the vehicle within detected driving lane lines by gently correcting the steering.

The driver can choose whether he wants to be supported continuously or only shortly before crossing the lane markings (steering times can be selected early/late); in addition, the steering wheel vibration can be adjusted according to the driver's wishes.

Since the system is not always desired in practice, e.g. during long journeys on straight roads or in construction zones, the lane assist can be conveniently switched off at any time using the new button on the left steering column stalk.

Traffic Jam Assist is a subsystem of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). In vehicles with automatic transmission (it cannot be activated in vehicles with manual transmission/hand shift), it can assist the driver with steering at speeds up to 65 km/h. The system uses the factory-installed radar sensors and the front camera. Traffic Jam Assist guides the vehicle using gentle steering movements, orienting itself using lane markings and other vehicles on the road. If Traffic Jam Assist reaches its system limits – for example, when the traffic jam clears or a tight bend lies ahead – the driver must take over driving again. If they fail to do so, the system warns them in several stages. As a last resort, it automatically brings the car to a safe stop.
