The windshield wipers switch on or off automatically when it rains - the driving lights switch from daytime running lights to dipped beam when it gets dark, the Coming Home / Leaving Home function can be used.

Here we provide you with the retrofit package for a very simple retrofitting.

The retrofitting of the original light/rain sensor is possible on all AUDI A4 / S4 / RS4 8K pre-facelift models of all years, all body styles (Avant, Sedan, allroad) and all equipment variants.

After installing the light/rain sensor, the Coming Home/Leaving Home function (controllable in your multimedia system) is also available - all functions are restored.

EVERY model can be retrofitted - EVERY installed electronics - EVERY installed wiper lever is already capable at the factory - these NEVER need to be replaced.

We supply you with the appropriate original parts for easy retrofitting of your AUDI A4 8K.

If an interior mirror is currently installed which is only glued to the window with an adhesive dot (see article image), the windscreen must be replaced with a windscreen with a mount for the light/rain sensor (or with a mount for the automatically dimming interior mirror) (your car glass specialist will know this).

Many of our customers combine this retrofitting with, for example, the replacement of the windscreen after a "stone impact".

For these models you will also need an interior mirror with a metal hook instead of an adhesive point. We recommend upgrading to automatic dimming or with a high beam assistant - we also offer these retrofit packages at any time, see article number: 12120.

All other windscreens with "hooked" interior mirrors that can be turned to the left (e.g. factory-installed with automatically dimming interior mirrors or 2-zone Climatronic) are always suitable and do NOT need to be replaced.

The light/rain sensor is a separate component and has NOT anything to do with the interior mirror; it is located behind the interior mirror in a holder (there is currently a blank cover installed there).

Installation information:

The light switch is unplugged and replaced 1:1 with the light switch with an additional "AUTO" position.

The interior mirror is simply turned to the left - the blind cover behind it is replaced with the light/rain sensor.

The cable set connects the light/rain sensor to the central electrics in the driver's footwell (only three wires).
