Audi A3 8Y electric tailgate retrofit package

Significantly upgrade your AUDI A3 8Y with the original electric tailgate.

Here we supply you with the complete package for retrofitting the original electric trunk / luggage compartment lid in your AUDI A3 8Y Sportback.

You can open and close the trunk lid automatically without any effort.

The maximum opening height can also be freely adjusted.

Choose for yourself whether you also want to install the button in the driver’s door.

The button on the tailgate is inserted into the existing tailgate trim.

After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here uses the innovative KECODI that is already pre-configured for you to completely automatically activate the electric tailgate, including parameterization and coding of all control units.

• There is NO need to visit your AUDI partner!
• The KECODI automatically performs the unlocking (also known colloquially as "GEKO" / "SFD") as well as the complete activation (= the coding / parameterization and the final deletion of the error memory) in the shortest possible time!

Product attributes:

The retrofitting of the original electric tailgate is possible on all AUDI A3 / S3 / RS3 8Y Sportback models of all years of manufacture and all equipment variants.

NOT suitable for AUDI A3 sedan models. Unfortunately, an electric tailgate is not available for these models.

We supply you with the complete package, all AUDI A3 8Y Sportback models can be retrofitted, all currently installed control units as well as the existing radio keys are already capable of this special equipment at the factory.

The tailgate is opened using the middle button on your existing vehicle key and, of course, using the handle on the tailgate.

With the new button in the tailgate you can open and close the trunk.

You can also open and close the tailgate using the new button in the driver's door (available as an option).

Installation information:

Please note: Some AUDI A3 8Y Sportback models do NOT have rubber grommets for routing the cable harness of the tailgate motors into the interior.

We have marked this point with an arrow on product image number 5. If an oval plastic plug is already installed on the left and right, these are removed and the cable set for the tailgate motors is pulled through there.

If no plastic plugs are installed, it is necessary to make an oval recess for these grommets in the sheet metal part of the body on the left and right (= the sheet metal must be cut out and protected from corrosion). The working time required for this is NOT included in the installation time listed under "Scope of delivery".
