Audi A3 8Y electrically folding mirror retrofit package

Significantly upgrade your AUDI A3 8Y with the original electrically folding exterior mirrors.

Here we supply you with the retrofit package for the installation of the original electrically folding mirrors - suitable for your AUDI A3 8Y.

It is operated via the new switch position in the driver's door, with your radio key when locking and via the new menu item in your MMI multimedia system - as installed at the factory.

You can set in your infotainment system whether the exterior mirrors should fold in automatically when you lock your AUDI A3 8Y.

After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here uses the innovative KECODI that is already preset for you to fully automatically activate the foldable mirrors.

• The KECODI automatically performs the unlocking (also known colloquially as "GEKO" / "SFD") as well as the complete activation (= the coding / parameterization and the final deletion of the error memory) in the shortest possible time!

Product attributes:

The retrofitting of the original automatically / electrically folding exterior mirrors is possible on all AUDI A3 / S3 / RS3 8Y models of all years of manufacture, all body styles (Sportback, Sedan) and all equipment variants.

Product compatibility:

Please check whether the two front door control units currently installed are capable of the Highline equipment of the electrically folding exterior mirrors (experience shows that these are about 75% capable and do NOT need to be replaced). You can check this by reading the part number with a diagnostic system (e.g. KECODI or VCDS) or by reading the part number directly from the door control unit.

The third last digit of the part number is important. This must be "5". "3" is unfortunately not possible and must be replaced. Here are some examples:

Structure of the part number: XX0-959-?9X - the position of the ? (question mark) is important.

Driver side: 5Q0959593 = a "5" - therefore suitable

Driver side: 5Q0959393 = a "3" - therefore not suitable

Passenger side: 5Q0959592 = a "5" - thus suitable

Passenger side: 5Q0959392 = a "3" - therefore not suitable

If it is necessary to replace a door control unit, this can be ordered under item number: 16370.

Installation information:

The existing painted mirror housings and the mirror glasses are individual components - these are dismantled and mounted on the new electrically folding mirrors - these do NOT need to be replaced.

The cover around the current mirror rotation switch will be replaced because you will later have one more position which can be selected with the rotation switch supplied here.

No further wiring work is necessary - the new mirrors are simply plugged into the door control unit inside the door.

The final activation is carried out completely and automatically by the supplied KECODI coding interface, including the creation of the new menu item in your multimedia system. No further changes / activations etc. are necessary.
