Here we supply you with the retrofit package for the installation of the original electrically folding mirrors - suitable for your AUDI A3 8Y.

It is operated via the new switch position in the driver's door, with your remote key when locking, and via the new menu item in your MMI multimedia system - as installed at the factory.

You can set in your infotainment system whether the exterior mirrors should fold in automatically when you lock your AUDI A3 8Y.

After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here completes the automatic activation of the folding mirrors using the innovative KECODI that is already pre-configured for you.

Product attributes:

Retrofitting the original automatically / electrically folding exterior mirrors is possible on all AUDI A3 / S3 / RS3 8Y models of all years of manufacture, all body styles (Sportback, Sedan) and all equipment variants.

Product compatibility:

Please check whether the two currently installed front door control units are compatible with the Highline version of the electrically folding exterior mirrors (experience shows that these are approximately 75% compatible and do NOT need to be replaced). You can check this by reading the part number with a diagnostic system (e.g., KECODI or VCDS) or by reading the part number directly from the door control unit.

The third-to-last digit of the part number is important. This must be "5" be. "3" is unfortunately not capable and must be replaced, here are some examples:

Part number structure: XX0-959-?9X - the position of the ? (question mark) is important.

Driver's side: 5Q0959593 = one "5" - thus suitable

Driver's side: 5Q0959393 = one "3" - therefore not suitable

Passenger side: 5Q0959592 = one "5" - thus suitable

Passenger side: 5Q0959392 = one "3" - therefore not suitable

If it is necessary to replace a door control unit, this can be ordered under item no.: 16370.

Installation information:

The existing painted mirror housings and the mirror glasses are individual components - these are dismantled and mounted on the new electrically folding mirrors - these do NOT need to be replaced.

The cover around the current mirror rotation switch will be replaced because you will later have one more position which can be selected with the rotation switch supplied here.

No further wiring is required - the new mirrors are simply plugged into the door control unit inside the door.

The included KECODI coding interface handles the final activation completely and automatically, including creating the new menu item in your multimedia system. No further changes/activations, etc., are necessary.
