Audi A3 8V electrically folding mirror retrofit package

Significantly upgrade your Audi A3 8V with the original electrically folding exterior mirrors.

Here we supply you with the retrofit package for installing the original electrically folding mirrors - especially suitable for your AUDI A3 8V.

+ Operation is via the new switch position in the driver's door and via the new menu item in your MMI multimedia system.

+ With subsequently available passenger mirror lowering, the right mirror glass goes down when you engage reverse gear.

+ You can select in the MMI whether the mirrors should fold in automatically when you lock your AUDI.

+ As installed at the factory - original system!

+ We supply the retrofit package appropriate for the chassis number and not a universal solution!

After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here carries out the complete automatic activation using the innovative KECODI that is already preset for you - NO further coding work with a tester is necessary.

Product attributes:

The retrofitting of the original automatically / electrically folding exterior mirrors is possible on all AUDI A3 / S3 / RS3 8V models of all body types (3-door, sedan, sportback, convertible) and all years of manufacture (pre-facelift / facelift).

We supply the appropriate retrofit package depending on the chassis number (door trim for 3-door, Sportback, etc., twist switch chrome or black, mirrors, etc.).

Product compatibility:

Please check in advance whether the two front door control units currently installed are capable of the Highline equipment of the electrically folding exterior mirrors (experience shows that these are about 75% capable and do NOT need to be replaced). You can check this by reading the part number with a diagnostic system (e.g. KECODI or VCDS) or by reading the part number directly from the door control unit.

The third to last digit of the part number is important. This must be "5". "3" is unfortunately not possible and must be replaced. Here are some examples:

Structure of the part number: XX0-959-?9X - the position of the ? (question mark) is important.

Driver's side: 5Q0959593 = a "5" - thus suitable

Driver's side: 5Q0959393 = a "3" - therefore not suitable

Passenger side: 5Q0959592 = a "5" - thus suitable

Passenger side: 5Q0959392 = a "3" - therefore not suitable

If it is necessary to replace the door control units, these can be ordered under item number: 16426.

Installation information:

The existing painted mirror housings and the mirror glasses are individual components - these are dismantled and mounted on the new electrically folding mirrors - so they DO NOT need to be replaced.

The cover around the current mirror rotation switch will be replaced because you will later have one more position which can be selected with the rotation switch supplied here.

No further wiring work is necessary - the new mirrors are simply plugged into the door control unit inside the door.
