VW T6.1 Hill Descent Assist retrofit package

Significantly upgrade your VW T6.1 with the original button panel for activating the hill descent assistant.

Here we supply you with the complete package for retrofitting the hill descent assistant with ASR/ESC and/or differential lock button already installed at the factory in your VW T6.1 bus.

The hill descent assistant ensures controlled and therefore significantly comfortable downhill driving by reducing the engine speed and, if necessary, by braking.

After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the supplied KECODI coding interface uses the innovative KECODI APP, which is already pre-configured for you, to fully automatically activate the hill descent assistant.

Product attributes:

Retrofitting the original button panel with an additional button for the hill descent assistant is possible on all VW T6.1 bus models of all years of manufacture, all variants (Multivan, Transporter, Bus, Caravelle, Business, California, etc.) as well as all equipment variants (manual transmission / automatic transmission, with or without digital speedometer) with an already installed ASR / ESC button and / or installed differential lock button to the left above the light switch.

NOT suitable for VW T6 models up to and including model year 2019, for these you need the retrofit package with article number: 22838

NOT suitable for VW T6.1 models without a button strip already installed on the left above the light switch, for these you need the retrofit package with article number: 22951

The cable set leads from the new button strip, which is replaced by the currently installed button strip on the left of the light switch, to the ESP/ABS control unit. This is located in the engine compartment and can be reached from above.

Information about the driver's side trim part:

For T6.1 models without a currently installed button strip on the driver's side (= no buttons to the left above the light switch - see product images), a trim part without a recess for this combined button strip is currently always installed.

This panel without button strip is installed if no ASR button, no hill descent assistant and no differential lock are installed ex works.

To retrofit these models without a currently installed button panel, it is always necessary to replace this cover.

If your VW T6.1 has "only" the ASR/ESP button without hill descent assist installed from the factory, then a button strip and the matching trim are already included. This retrofit package for the hill descent assist, which can be ordered here, fits, the currently installed button strip is only replaced.

However, if your VW T6.1 does not currently have a button panel installed, you will need our retrofit package with article number: 22951. This retrofit package also contains the necessary trim part.
